When interlaced video is shown with wrong field order, motion of relatively big contrast objects looks shaky. Because of that viewers feel uncomfortable. This paper describes an algorithm designed to automatically detect field order. This algorithm allows to precisely detect correct field order for such video, so viewers won’t see shaky motion.
